Seedan (2011)



Mahalakshmi (Ananya) is a servant at the residence of the elderly Amritavalli (Sheela). Everyone is really fond of her and treat her as one of the family, not a servant. However she finds herself doing all the work in the house. She is also a great devotee of the magnificent lord Murugan. Residing in Palani, she is unable to attend the temple. In a dream she finds hersef at her wedding with an unknown man. The next day that man comes to the house. He is none other than Amritavalli's own grandson Mano (Krishna). He falls head over heels in love with maha. Maha though hesitant at first finds herself in love with him as well. Mano constantly assures her that his mother will arrange marriage. However as fate has it mano is afraid to admit to his mother thangam (Suhasini) that he is in love. This encourages thangam to fix his marriage with her childhood friends daughter. However when thangam comes to know of the love affair she is helpless and all she is able to do is encourage the lovebirds to forget each other. Soon everyone ( excpet amritavalli, thangam and mano) treat Maha in a rude way... as a servant not a family member. Mahalakshmi, angry claims to Lord Murugan that she will not face ever again. Enters Saravanan (Dhanush). Dhanush enters as the cook appointed by Madhave Gounder (Ilavarasu). Everyone finds his cooking awesome. However Mahalakshmi disapproves as cooking was her only peaceful hobby in the house after she fell in Love. Saravannan is told to stay in the guest house where Gumbidiswamy (vivek) is staying. Gumbidiswamy is a fraud and is now trying to pass as a presit in strong believe of god. For this reason he has stayed at their house. It didn't take Saravannan long to realize that Gumbidiswamy is a fraud and he used this to blackmail him. Having this control over Gumbidiswamy, Saravanna tells him to tell everyone that according to background and religious research, Mano and his fiancee are not suitable for each other. After doing many things such as this, Saravannan is able to get Maha and Mano together. thangam and Amritavalli agree to let Mano marry Maha. Maha and Mano (on the day of their wedding) search for Saravannan to thank him for his help.Instead of Saravanna, another person comes and says he is the only Saravannan around the area. Disappointed, Maha goes to Murugan's Altar to pray... and there she see's Saravannan. He soon fades away. At that point, Maha understood that Saravannan was Murugan in Human form - in the Hindu religion it is believed that god may come down to earth in a human form to help those in need.

Mozhi (2007)



Mozhi (Tamil: மொழி, English: Language) is a 2007 Tamil film language drama film directed by Radha Mohan and produced by Prakash Raj. The film features Jyothika and Prithviraj in lead roles while Prakash Raj and Swarnamalya portray supporting roles. The film's plot is about Karthik (Prithviraj) who works as a musician in films falls in love with a deaf and dumb girl Archana (Jyothika) but she considers him as his friend and disapproves his love. Rest of the story revolves around Archana accepting Karthik's love.

Saamy (2003)



Saamy movie is all about Vikram who is a Deputy Commissioner of Police of Tirunelveli who efficiently brings the city under control. Arusaamy arrives at Tirunelveli after being in exile for some years after being wrongly accused of bribery by corrupt politicians. At the outset, he pretends to be a corrupt cop by accepting bribes from the very influential Annachi.Later Saamy starts to rebel against him and the rest is about how he succeeds in overcoming the corrupt politicians.

Thirumalai (2003)



Thirumalai (Vijay) is an auto mechanic. He falls in love with Shweta (Jyothika) whose father owns a television channel. After resenting initially, she reciprocates his love for her, much against the wishes of her stern father. To break Shweta's relationship with Thirumalai, her father takes the help of Arasu, a political killer and power broker. A bloody war ensues between Thirumalai and Arasu. How Thirumalai manages to tame Arasu's wrath and manages to win over Shweta is what the film is all about.

Kandukondein Kandukondein (2000)



Based on Jane Austen's classic novel, Sense And Sensiblity, 'Kandukondein Kandukondein' is the tale of the trials and tribulations in the life of two sisters. Soumya (Tabu) is matured and practical, while Meenakshi (Aishwarya Rai) lives in her own dreamy and poetic world. Sowmya is considered unlucky because every boy who has come to see her for marriage has suffered one mishap or the other. As a result, she has remained unmarried till date. On the other hand, Meenu dreams of being with a person who will come and sweep her off her feet by rendering Bhartiyar's poetry. As the story progresses, the sisters do come across men of their liking. But will their love succeed? A sudden turn of events forces them to take decisions against their will. What happens next?

Rhythm (1999)



The story of 'Rhythm' is about a reporter Karthik (Arjun), who falls for a bank employee Chitra (Meena), and their troubles in expressing their love for each other. Each of them is trying to recuperate from the agony of losing their spouses in a terrifying train accident. Things seem to settle for them, and when they are about to marry, Chitra's mother-in-law (Lakshmi) walks into her life. Old, widowed and having lost her only son, she has no one but Chitra to fall back on. Chitra is in a dilemma. Will she be able to talk to her mother-in-law about Karthik, or will she decide to continue living with her mother-in-law?

Pistha (1997)



M. Dharmaraj (Mouli), a wealthy businessman, employs Manicandan (Karthik) as a Manager in his office, owing to his good and considerate nature. Dharmaraj's daughter Vennila (Nagma), a spoilt brat, objects to it. She acts haughty and hates her father as she is under the mistaken notion that her father is responsible for her sister's untimely death. In order to inherit her ancesteral wealth, she plots and marries Manicandan. After the marriage, she is shocked to learn that Manicandan is an ex-convict. What happens thereafter forms the rest of the story.

Duet (1993)

Roja (1992)



Roja revolves around Rishi Kumar's (Arvind Swamy) love for his motherland. An eminent cryptologist, he goes to a village in Tirunelveli district for his matrimony, but the girl declares her love to someone else. Strangely, Rishi requests her sister Roja's (Madhubala) hand in marriage. Both get married and live in the city. Working for the Indian government, Rishi is assigned a posting at an army communications center in Kashmir. Roja and Rishi lead a loving, romantic life. Roja's world is shattered when Rishi is abducted by militant Kashmiri separatists who demand the release of their terrorist leader Wasim Khan from prison, held by Indian military forces. Roja pleads with politicians and the military for help, but she has little success.

Azhagan (1991)



Azhagappan (Mammootty) is a self-made man who has risen from rags to riches. When he was an 8th standard student, he started his career as a waiter in a hotel and by sheer dint of hard work and sincerity, grew to own the biggest hotel in the city. Swapna (Madhubala), Priya (Bhanupriya) and Kanmani (Geetha), who belong to different walks of life, enter his life and fall in love with him. The facts that he is in his forties and is a widower with four children do not deter them. Manal Kayiru (1982)



Manal Kayiru - A rib tickling comedy, 'Manal Kayiru' is about Kittumani's (S.V. Sekar) marriage and the eight conditions he puts forth. The conditions range from practical ones like the girl should remarry if he dies to impractical or illogical ones like she should cook both vegetarian and non vegetarian food. He seeks the help of Naradar Naidu, his father's friend, and a marriage broker, to find a girl for him. Naradar Naidu chooses Uma (Shanti Krishna) who does not fulfill even a single condition. Naidu makes Kittumani believe that she does and gets them married. Hell breaks loose when Kittumani finds the truth. In order to save the marriage with all this confusion, Naidu convinces all the family members to play various roles thus paving way for too many hilarious situations.

Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu (1978)



Murli (Rajnikanth) and Prabhu (Kamal) are owner and manager respectively, of an advertising agency in Madras. Prabhu has been raised by Murli's family, and feels greatly indebted to them. Prabhu is in love with Padma (Sripriya), but a misunderstanding leads them apart. In the meantime, Murli meets and falls in love with Padma.

Kizhake Pogum Rail (1978)



Panchali, an innocent girl, arrives at her sister's house in the village, travelling by the east-bound train. Here, she meets Paramjothi, an aspiring poet whom the village folk have branded as a useless fellow. Love blossoms between Paramjothi and Panchali. Soon, Paramjothi has to leave for the city where he wants to try his hand in film industry. He gets a lucky break and becomes hugely successful. Both the lovers' lives revolve around the east-bound train in which they exchange their messages. Meanwhile, Panchali's brother-in-law tries to trap her and marry her. Soon, disaster strikes the village in the form of natural calamity, but both the lovers escape the villagers' wrath with the help of the east-bound train.

Nalla Neram (1972)




Nalla Neram is about Raju's choice between love (his wife) and friendship (his loyal and devoted pet elephants). This is the story about the friendship and loyalty of animals with man. Raju owns elephants and earns a livelihood by making them perform tricks. He falls in love with Vijaya and they get married. But soon, a problem arises. Vijaya hates elephants because of a personal tragedy in her life. She also feels that Raju spends too much time with his elephant friends. Will the elephants succeed in winning over her heart or will Raju be forced to make a choice between his wife and his animal friends?
